Why do we fall in love, and not rise in love?

Why do we 'fall' in love, and not 'rise' in love? What is better - falling or rising? Perhaps, falling in love is better. It's beautiful because you surrender yourself, just like when you are falling you lose it all and simply come down to your knees.

But, the word 'fall' has a negative connotation to it. Falling is about losing balance. It's about coming down. It's about loss. Why we use such a negative word with love?

May be rising in love is a better way to say it. Falling is easy, uncontrollable and can happen to anyone. Not all can muster the courage to get up though. But again, you can't experience rising until you have fallen.

May be falling and rising are two phases. You have to fall, loose yourself and then slowly rise up.
