Portland

There are places that are never on your wishlist, but just because there is a friend who connects with a part of your life, those places that manage to pull you :)

Before Portland, I always saw a busy side of US like New York and California. Portland offered a different laidback city life of US where you can view mountains & greenery from any point. The weather is sometimes damp and makes you want to sleep more & relax. However, me and a group of 3 frends decided to be on the road with a touristy checklist in our hands to cover some of the famous & breath-taking spots in a span of 2.5 days. The views were spectacular and the beaches were pristine. We covered multiple spots like Multonamah Falls, Columbia River Gorge, Lost Lake, Cannon Beach and Astoria Bridge (which connects Washington & Oregon). Overall, the trip was all about visiting my friend's home, and doing a REALLY long road trip (something I always try to run away from in Indian roads ;P )

Seattle
May 2015


The last leg of the Porland trip was a day's visit to Seattle. The drive to Porland and Seattle only reminds me of Fifty Shades of Grey movie where Grey drops Anna to Porland in his fancy car. The funny part is that I watched the movie after my Seattle visit. A hindi movie, an Indian restaurant and a quick visit to Space Needle completed our Seattle trip. Sudden realisation. Isn't life very much similar to snakes and ladders game? When something good happens, the ladder of success takes us to the top, and in another moment, a snake bite can bring us down - right at square one. But, you never know which phase of life has a snake/ladder waiting for you.. Even when we are happy, there is a fear of the landing up on the block where longest snake is waiting to destroy everything in a moment, and that we will have to start from the scratch! :S We do get up and dream again, even if we just had a major fall. There is chase. A lot of Competition. Of course, peer-pressure too.  But, only limited time! Sigh. I guess this is the beauty of this game.  There is an excitement at every step. A hope as we move from block to block. A prayer for desired number on every roll of dice. Yes, there are snakes. But, there are ladders as well :D

Behind the frame..

It's almost been a month since I am seeing this world from a frame (literally). Being a thinker, it triggered different thoughts and funny experiences that I am sharing here... 1. So, the very first time you wear spects, there is an 'ackward feeling'. For me, the definition of ackwardness was hilarious, confusing and 'thoughtful' questions :P  I'll give you some examples, '' Is it normal for your eyelashes to touch the glass?'', ''How do you see things that are above or below your frame?'' 2. Well, there's more to it.. The very first week of wearing spects is all about adjustment - for you, and for the people around (seeing a new 'you'). Goosebumps & crankiness: Blame the food!

I always describe myself as a moody person. I can be extremely happy in one moment, and super depressed later. Recently, I subscribed to few health feeds, and came across some very interesting articles. Next time you're angry, think about the  food choices you made today.  ( At least I know what to blame next time :P) Your favorite cup of coffee is controlling your mood ? (Well, I just named my blog 'Coffee & Karma and now it has a DEEPER meaning ;) )  Tomatoes , which have excellent health benefits, can make you angry too?  Even wheat & diary products (if not digested properly) can affect the brain function.   It's interesting that it takes  20 minutes for your brain to know you're overeating ?
