Coffee And Karma

This is one of the really though provoking movies that I have seen in long time. A very interesting concept of traveling in the past to change one unpleasant thing, and consequently, a lot of other things change as well. I often wonder if I could change one thing in the past, then life would be so much better. However, I can't even imagine how this small change could have other consequences and present would have been just so different than what it is.  Also, finding the right point which you want to change so that other important things don't get affected is very important point. In this movie (spoiler alert), Evan purposefully upsets Kayleigh so that she lives with her mother, and so not get affected by her pervert father. Her brother too, therefore has a normal life, and as a group they never commit the dynamite accident or hurt Kayleigh when he grows up, and also makes sure his mother is fine too. . It's not that I watched this movie tonight for the first time but somehow, this movie has a spell that cheers me up however sad I am.. The chemistry between Salman and Madhuri in this movie is perfect. Right from the ideal marriage moments to romantic moments- it has EVERYTHING. The way the love story is captured takes my heart away... Yes, this movie has one of my favorite romantic moments of hindi movies.. Just feel sooo good after watching it anytime, anyday... Songs: I love the title song - Hum Aapke hai kaun. the most... In fact, all the songs give feel-good vibes.. :)

. I love this one for I can relate to some part of the movie. The movie is an unusual love story of Julia Roberts and Hugh Grants. The part I can relate to was the frequent entry and exit of the girl in the life of the guy. It's so difficult to wait for someone when you have no idea if that person will be back or not. That was the most beautiful part. Also, I love these two songs: 1. You say it best, when you say nothing at all... (Amazing song) 2. Ain't no sunshine without you... (Simply awesome) Overall, very nice movie. A little slow in first half but the ending is awesome :) .

The movie is touching and one can feel the pain of Katie Bates (Christine), a woman suffering from bipolar disorder, and the strange situation of her sister, Elizabeth(Judy), struggling to balance her life with the responsibilities of a sister. And even in a movie with such a heavy topic, the role of Clark (Harvey) was fitting so well as Judy's lover. The movie shows different sides of Christine, her struggle to fight the disease, and her experience of recognizing herself as not a normal person- all beautifully expressed. The background music that plays in the movie will surely be ringing in one's ears... Must watch, but it surely is one of the heaviest movies. .

. Another beautiful documentary I came across during the campus visit to MICA... It's the story of a women in Iraq who believes in her dreams, and wants a lot from life. Ironically, due to circumstances, she ends up having a life where she bears a terrible mental torture from her husband and gradually ends up losing confidence and her real identity. She struggle to evade this torturous life by seeking divorce but her love for her two children binds her to suffer more. The depiction of mental torture prohibiting her to make calls, talk to strangers, study, meet people makes the film one of the most violent movies but without any physical violence scene. A very low budget film but with marvelous acting and theme prompted me to make a note of it here.

This is another documentary in which 11 stories of different countries, each of 9 minutes 11 minutes are shown with some context to September 11 incident. Five of the parts that I saw are here... 1. Story of a Deaf Girl This is my favorite most. It's a story of a deaf girl who falls in love with a guy who is intermediary to the world as he understands her sign language. They marry but her disability brings some tension between them. The feeling of insecurity in the relation prompts her to write a letter to her husband when he goes out to work on Sep11. She writes to him about her decision to go away from his life as she feels she doesn't fit for him being a disabled. And that only "some miracle" can save their relation... However, the guy returns injured in sometime and loses his hearing ability in the incident. 2. Teacher and students This story shows a teacher in Afghanistan telling students about 9/11 incident and asking them to pay homage to victims for

. I never had any opinion about homosexuality, and always was neutral about it. This movie introduced me to a different angle of it, and now I think I respect it. What I loved about the movie was that the relationship between two gays was based on love and not just sex. Perhaps it was one of the best romantic movies I have seen. And the very element of love in the movie makes it easy for audience to accept the sensitive issue. The struggle of one of them in talking to his parents about his preference in contrast to the other guy whose mother easily accepts his son's sexual preference is beautifully projected. The chemistry between the couple is too amazing. I never could imagine romance like this between a homosexual couple. It’s a short documentary, but with a wondeful treatment to a really sensitive topic like homosexuality. .

. Another update about the movie I have watched three times by now, and loved it more every time. The wonderful part was the message conveyed by the movie that even if the other person “forgets” to love you at some point of time in life, you should have the confidence that you can make him/her fall in love again. A beautiful thought of “falling in love everyday with the same person” is worth analyzing. It answers a question that pops out in my mind that what’s the guarantee that there will be a future in a relationship, and that the two people will always share the same equation as they do. The answer is that love brings with itself the confidence that it won’t waver to start all over again if needed be. Beautiful thought, isn't? :) .
